San Francisco based DJ/Producer Ozgood (FKA Señor Oz) has always had a touch for mixing the organic feeling and textures of acoustic music with the synchronization and low end of electronic dance music. As a co-founding of the Afrolicious party he was responsible for bridging the gap between old school Afro-funk and Disco and modern organic house music in the Bay, including some of the great live percussionists and MCs for many of their memorable residency nights. The same energy made it onto many official remixes Ozgood made for Akwaaba Music, Six Degrees Records, Spring Strut Recordings amongst others. His newest single 'No Water No Life' finds the producer teaming up with vocalist Yacouba Diarra on an uptempo house rhythm. The sound of the arpeggiated bass line offer a sharp contrast to the melodies of the n'goni (stringed African harp) and the vocals but create a distinct sound and vibe that is the result of years of DJng with live musicians such as Diarra. For remix duties Only Now (the newest nom de plum of Producer Kush Arora) delivers an industrial dub manifestation that fits right at home in a late night Black Coffee set.
